BEH 101 - Language & Literacy Developmt |
Recommended background: ECH 110. Surveys the
development of language and literacy in young
children from birth through eight years of age.
Students will explore the foundations of learning
theories and examine the research and philosophies
that shape current practice as well as models that
support emergent readers and writers. Additional
emphasis will focus on the integration of literacy
throughout the curriculum, assessment techniques,
literacy and diversity, selecting children’s literature,
and working with families.
